About Me
I was born outside of Cleveland, Ohio in the summer of 1972. My first big league ballgame was in 1981 as my dad took me to watch the Milwaukee Brewers, whose lineup was loaded with players such as Yount, Molitor, Cooper, Thomas, Ogilive, Fingers, Vukovich, Ganter. My first thought when I saw Municipal Stadium was how green the grass was and how come our grass wasn’t that green at home! From that point on, the love affair of baseball bloomed.
I currently reside in Round Rock, Texas, just outside of Austin. My wife is an avid Red Sox fan, which hasn’t caused too much trouble in the house as they have not met in the playoffs yet. We have 7 kids altogether with 13 grandchildren. Our goal is to watch a game at every major league ballpark. Thus far, 6 down, 24 to go.

Why I Wrote the Book
Why I Wrote the Book
While catching up with my dad over the phone seven or eight years ago, we started discussing what happened to “so and so” player with the funny injury they sustained. One of us blurted out, “a book should be written about these injuries.” That started the journey of compiling these injuries. Whether it was falling out of the bathtub, getting bit by spiders in a hotel room, or getting bit by your mother-in-law’s dog, or any number of crazy, bizarre injuries, this book tells the players’ stories.
What the majority of these stories have in common was not only the zany nature in which these injuries occurred, but the fact that these players had to miss ballgames because of their injuries. Guess that is what makes these injuries humorous because it could happen to any one of us.
